This year coaches or clubs will be providing proof of their athlete's qualification scores to sectionals (level 5 & 6) or the
state meet (for Level 4, 7, 8, 9 & 10) by sending scoresheets with their athletes highlited to the State Score Keeper.
This can be done by the coach asking for a copy of the score sheet at the meet or downloading the results, highlighting their athlete &
mailing or emailing them to the score keeper. Athletes must be highlighted by the coach / club as the score keeper is not responsible
for searching thru the entire meet result list to pick out each Vermont gymnast. Scores must be received no later then 10 days prior to the
meet needing the qualification score.|
Send highlighted proof of qualification to Woodie Clifton, P.O. Box 9476, so. Burlington Vt. 05407 or Woodiec@comcast.net
Highlighted score sheets should be sent PDF or JPEG as all word doc. won't run on the Mac
I only need the page with your gymnast on it & the title page of the meet with the Meet name, date, email address

Update for all from Gail on last nights meeting::|
- Safety: 10 to do course, all must register by Friday AM Sept. 2nd. Only two registered so far, USA will cancel. If not a member, call
1-800-345-4719 to register or fax them. Course Code GM09172011VT.
- Please when entering any meets, double check that you have included all the information and return by the due date. Many parents and judges
want to know the sessions, times, what day and when individuals and clubs are late or have incorrect info, it is difficult for all the Meet
Directors. Please understand that this is very time consuming.
- Some dates for meets: Some are pending but wanted to let people know what was discussed to make plans: Also, clubs, send your request in for
judges with the $3/judge assigned fee ASAP to get judges.
If anyone would like to see meets elsewhere such as States: Winooski HS rental fee was $3,000. Windsor is janitorial fee only. Do not suggest
to Jill, if you want to meet elsewhere, find a high school that is far more reasonable but at this time we know we can have Windsor.

Notes from Gail:|
I have just returned from National Congress so will have even more information to share.
First: Just a repeat: Safety Course is Sat. 9-17 at Northern Lights, since I do not have every coaches email, please let your staff know they
can renew their Safety within one year of expiration date. Also, since I now only do 1 course a year and there is a minimum requirement of
attendees, please, register with the National Office. Any one interested in learning to judge, this is a course you will have to take eventually
to judge, so if you have serious intentions of judging, register and take the course. If there are not 10 registered, the course will be
cancelled so do not be a walk in. Call 1-800-345-4719 to register if you are a new coach or judge and have not joined USA Gymnastics. Otherwise,
go online, set up your new password etc. and register online. There is a two week window to do this so if you have not registered, do it this week.
Also, enclosed please find a copy of notes from Regional Congress. I have also attached our agenda for Sept. 18th. Marylou is adjusting her
session somewhat and adding some other instructions. Download your REgional Congress notes to save on my copying. Also, order your Rules
and Policies or download if you havenot done so.

Just a reminder that there is a Safety Course at Northern Lights on Saturday Sept. 17th. You can renew within a year, you send new coaches for
a certification and you can renew expired members. Please register online as this is the only course being held in Vermont this year (we are
limited) and there must be minimum of 10 registrants. Gym owners, please pass onto your staff. Since there is a minimum required, do not wait to
register at the site, actually, that may soon be discontinued. Any questions, call 1-800-345-4719 to know how much to pay etc. If not a
member, it may be easier to call. All other members can register online. You may have to set up your profile page with a new password. Do not
delay, tomorrow is August 1st.|
Also, all judges, bring a photo copy of your USA membership card to the clinic, I must have those to assign.
Gym owners who are coming to the 9-18 clinic, if you have your meet dates, bring your request for judges and check books so we can begin!!!

State Service Award Nominations: (Voting ends on June 9th at 8:00pm)
- From: Gail D McGann, Sent: Thu, Jun 2, 2011 1:26 pm
I feel that members of your "scoring" team should be nominated. I assume it is volunteer doing the scores and the ribbons
and medals and a thankless job. I am not sure other than Peter and Phyliss who else helps so I am nominating the scoring team from states.
- From: Kim Hoffman, Sent: Thu, Jun 2, 2011 2:38 pm
Service award seems to me Jill is way qualified for this...don't know the histrory and if she has recieved it a lot in the past, but setting up the
State Meeting as well as the State meet seems deserving.
- From: Ashley Godin, Sent: Thu, Jun 2, 2011 4:26 pm
I would like to nominate Stano for the State Service Award.
Stano has done the State of Vermont's Gymnastics community a great deal of service. He took a chance and re-opened a gym during a difficult time. He created
a safe and happy place for that community of families and gymnasts. He also allowed the U-32 high school program to continue using the gym and was able
to help keep their program afloat. On top of that he continues to keep the website going offering results, new and pictures about Vermont Gymnastics.
- From: Ruth Dunkleys, Sent: Thu, Jun 2, 2011 4:42 pm
I nominate Peter!! (Is he eligible? Did he ever receive it??) I think he would be a wonderful Service Award Winner for VT!
He helps with set up and scoring for the GMI and the State Meet! ~~without him....how could it all happen???? Do you need more information to support
my nominationb??? Hope you are catching some sunny days with your family!
- From: Kathy St. Pierre, Sent: Thu, Jun 2, 2011 5:16 pm
I would like to nominate Jill from Northern Lights and Miss Christie would like to nominate Mary Lou Smith.
- From: Carol Krug, Sent: Thu, Jun 2, 2011 6:33 pm
I would vote for Stano, with the website that he takes care of and the results. I think he does this.
- From: Keri Woodman, Sent: Mon, Jun 6, 2011 10:49 am
I am nominating Jill for service person of the year.

Please get me your nominations by June 3rd so we can vote.
Please attach some info as to why you are nominating that person. Person nominated should be affiliated with the State of Vermont and have given service this year.
All info should come to me - please forward this to anyone that is not getting it - anyone missing should email me so I can add them.
Last years winner was Gail McGann.
All votes are due by June 9th.

May NAWGJ News Update|

at 9:30. You must pre-register, no walk ins, and must register by September 1st. If there are not 10 participants,
the course will be cancelled by USA Gymnastics. The course should be posted by the end of next week as they confirmed

clubs who currently have a club number because they have athletes competing in sanctioned USA Gymnastics competitions, but are NOT USAG MEMBER CLUBS; that is, they have
not signed up for the special club membership providing them with special marketing benefits, etc.
Many of these clubs that DO NOT participate in the MEMBER CLUB program do not currently have a contact administrator listed in our data base. On March 1st, we are making
changes to our web site system and any club that does not have a specific contact administrator listed will not be able to access their rosters or club registrations online.
Clubs that are already enrolled in the MEMBER CLUB program already have a designated contact/administrator listed and are not required to do anything at this time.
Please help us make sure that these clubs read this message by sending it out by e-mail blast to all clubs in your state plus by posting the announcement on your state/Regional web sites.
In order for the clubs THAT ARE NOT MEMBER CLUB PROGRAM CLUBS to stay connected to our system, they:
1. Must have a contact administrator from their club who is USA Gymnastics Member.
2. Must send us the name AND member number of their contact/administrator, along with their Club number.
3. Must e-mail this information to : email@example.com

Safety and Risk Management Courses|
This is just a note for all USA Gymnastics Members and Judges:
If you read your weekly USA update which states that Risk Management Courses
(Safety Certification) will be online courses other than National and Regional
Congress which will be live and State congresses. I received this notification
last week from Cheryl Jarrett the new Vice President of Education (replacing
Kathy Feldmann who retired 12-21-10). I aske d Cheryl if we could run Safety
and Risk Management at our fall state clinic. She said there must be a minimum
of 20 participants.
Unfortunately, looking at the number of judges and coaches and everyone has a
different recertification date, plus the fact the largest number I have ever had
at a course is 16. I had 15 this past fall as there were many new coaches from
the two new clubs and recerts; it is very unlikely that I will be able to run a
course unless I have it signed in blood that there are 20 people in need.
Otherwise, you can carpool to Regional Congress in Newton,, Mass. You do not
have to do Congress, you just do the course if finances are an issue. If that
is not an option, renewals can be done online for $65 and new members may do it
online for around $140 + or - depending on membership etc.
I do not want any individuals to plan on waiting for the fall clinic as records
indicate that between Risk and Safety Management and Testing, that most people
unfortunately, are just not reliable about following through with registration.
I would hate to have anyone holding out for Sept. and then have the course
cancelled. Again, I can request a course but I must absolutely have
confirmation that there are 20 people coming. If only 19, course is cancelled.
I find that often I am reminding a few (not the majority) that with any course
or test I run, there are always a few who do not register in time or at all.
Just the way it is. Even so, those who intend, I often have to send several
reminders and then they are late registrations for Safety or cut out of testing.
(stressful for me)
So, food for thought for people so you can plan: If you can come up with 20
people for Sept. signed in blood with cash in hand, we can do it. Otherwise,
you may have to think of online or Regional/ National Congress.
I did have someone say they feel the Risk and Safety Management Course does not
address some specific needs of coaches. This is true, this course is basically
to keep you aware of Safety features and language and how not to get sued. The
HOT courses and MELPD courses are designed to cover the coaching needs. There is
a new course Fundamental of Gymnastics Instruction and this is online and
availabled AT NO COST to current USA members. This may be something you want to
have your coaches try. It is new and I think is accessible to do now.
So, just a heads up for all the plan.
